Crofton boys find Norfolk a rather unfriendly place

Trips to Norfolk proved to be very unkind to the Crofton Warriors as the CHS boys went 1-2 over the past week of basketball action.
Crofton ventured to Norfolk on Tuesday, Jan. 11 and were stunned by Norfolk Catholic 73-68. The CHS bunch came home and slipped by Neligh-Oakdale 68-65 on Friday, but a return trip to Norfolk saw Lutheran High Northeast take an overtime match 66-62 the following night.
The 7-4 Warriors will play host to Plainview on Friday, Jan. 21 and then host Pierce on Jan. 27 before heading into the NENAC Tournament.

Check 21 will speed up processing system

By Teri Kramer --Journal Writer
Do you make a habit of writing a check when you know you don't have enough money in your account to cover it? You hope you have time to deposit Friday's paycheck before the check clears the bank.
Engaging in such activity means relying on the "float time" of a check. This is the time it takes for a check to make it from the bank it is being deposited in to the bank that pays it.
Rumor has it that the new checking act, called "Check 21," was designed to eliminate such practices. Well, take a deep breath and let your worry out with it.
